Shiraz (Lazio)

 

 Sometimes I like my wine to function like a work horse.  I want flavor, complexity and easy pairing with food.  This shiraz from Casale del Giglio is excatly what you want from a table wine.

It has a soft palate with a hint of black pepper for a finishing note.  The wine is tannic and spicy.  

 

Thie aroma of the Shiraz is for some intense with notes of cherris, cinnamon and currants.  The hue is a dark ruby red with violet under tones.

Just about anything you can think of for a weeknight meal.
