Ribolla Gialla

The Ribolla Gialla grape is traditionally harvested in Friuli Venezia Giulia region.  The history of the grape dates back to the 1200s.  Some Ribolla’s are made with plenty of skin contact in addition to “oak” aging to produce a full-bodied wine that can be develop over time.  The word “gialla” means yellow which can describe the distinct color of the grape at its point of ripeness.   Many consider the best examples of the Ribolla Gialla to come from Collio and Colli Orientali regions.  Both are situated in the hilly regions of Italy that borders Slovenia

Tasting notes: Light, floral, apple essence with a good acidic finish.
