Ramos Pinto Vintage Port, Portugal
2000 was an excellent year for vintage port, with low yields producing rich, strong wines. Port is blended together using a number of grape varieties. Sometimes the final blend may be unidentified even to the winemaker. Vintage Port is for the most part the most expensive and prestigious member of the Port family.
Vintages are only ‘declared’ when the quality of the fruit, the quantity available and market demand meet. Ramos Pinto Port has a ripe fruit aroma with a hint of smoke and anise. It has a sweet but balanced flavor profile with a low tannic presence. It tends to linger on the tongue.
